Athletic Director Linda J. Case

OFFICE: B211 Tuttle North Athletic Complex
PHONE: (585) 395-5328
E-MAIL: lcase@brockport.edu

Linda J. Linda J. "Lin" Case, was named the College's Director of Athletics and Campus Recreation in 1995. She is the second woman to hold the highest-ranking position in athletics at the College in the history of the program. She is just the second female AD in the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC). At the time of hire, she was the only woman in New York state to run an athletic program that sponsors both Division III football and ice hockey programs.

Case replaced Ed Matejkovic, who resigned after the 1995 school year to accept a similar position at his alma mater, West Chester University (PA).

A 1977 SUNY Cortland graduate, Case taught physical education and coached a variety of sports, including basketball, volleyball, and gymnastics at the Elmira Heights Central School District until 1981. From there, she was the assistant manager and program director at the Penfield Racquet Club before coming to the College in 1987. She was the assistant athletic director at SUNY College at Brockport from 1987-1995, and the school's Senior Women's Administrator (SWA) from 1990-1995. She received a master's degree from Brockport in 1989.

Since coming to Brockport, Case has had many responsibilities within the Office of Intercollegiate Athletics, including NCAA compliance and eligibility, home event management, facility coordination, and SWA. From 1995 to 1999 she also was the Director of Campus Recreation. She was also the driving force behind the "College Athletes for a Winning Attitude" program, a three-year drug and alcohol education program run in conjunction with the Brockport Central School District's BACA (Brockport Against Chemical Abuse) program. Case is currently a member of the SUNYAC hardship and infractions committees, and was a member of the tournament committee from 1990 to 1992.

"Lin has done a great job over the years," said Don Murray, SUNY Brockport's incredibly successful wrestling coach. "She is a top-notch administrator who always has the best interests of the program in mind. She does an excellent job."
