Head Coach: Jack Stover
Jack Stover was hired as the Swimming and Diving Head Coach and Aquatics Coordinator at The College at Brockport in May of 2008. He replaces Dr. Greg (Doc) Kenney who retired at the end of the 2007-08 season after a 30-year coaching career.
Stover becomes just the fourth head coach in the history of the Brockport program that started in 1946 under James Fulton.
“We are excited to have Jack on the staff at Brockport and we look forward to his enthusiasm and energy to continue the long tradition of excellence in our swimming and diving program,” said Director of Athletics Lin Case. “He has plenty of local ties to the area which will aid in the recruiting effort to attract the top area swimmers and divers to Brockport.”
Over the last three years, Stover was the assistant swimming and diving coach at the University of Rochester. Under his tutelage, Rochester recorded 15 individual Conference champions and two relay champions. Before joining Rochester, Stover was the assistant swimming and diving coach at Alfred University.
“I look forward to having Jack as part of the Recreational Services team at Brockport,” said Director of Recreational Service Scott Haines. “Jack’s knowledge of aquatics will assist in the growth of our aquatics program.”
In his career, he coached the Diamond Farms Swim Team in Gaithersburg, Maryland in 2003 and co-founded and coached the Naples White Dolphin Swim Team in the United States Swimming Association Club from 2000-2002.
Stover earned a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and Early Childhood Education with a minor in Coaching from Alfred University in 2004. While there, he was a member of the Saxons swimming & diving team. He was named captain in the 2003-04 season and was part of the Upstate New York State Collegiate Swimming Association (UNYSCSA) Championship Swim Team in 2003 and was also selected as an UNYSCSA All-Academic team in 2004.
While at Naples Central School, he was a member of the New York State Championship soccer team in 1999 and was also the swimming and diving team captain, as well as the Drum Line Captain for four years.
Prior to graduating from Naples High School, Stover became the youngest person to swim the length of Canandaigua Lake in 1998.
