Biology Department Mission
Our mission is the advancement of knowledge in the biomedical sciences through cutting-edge research and teaching. To achieve our mission, we have faculty members who are leaders in their research fields in molecular and cellular biology, and who are also inspring teachers. Our students learn first hand from our professors in small class sizes and an environment of intensive student-professor interactions and personal attention. Through such close student-faculty collaborations in the classroom and the laboratory, and with emphasis on solving scientific problems creatively, we prepare our students for careers in research, medicine and education.
