This Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), entered into between SUNY Brockport's Office of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (OEDI) and the Division of Enrollment Management & Student Affa.irs (EMSA), seeks to outline ways in which the two may more effectively and efficiently collaborate to achieve shared goals in achieving "Building a Better Brockport."
Members of the Equity, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI) Award Selection Committee are charged by the Chief Diversity Officer (CDO) to develop an institutional process that will honor selected College stakeholders for their exceptional commitment and effort in advancing equity, diversity and inclusion. In recognizing multiple stakeholders of the institution, the process will honor faculty, staff, students and alumni for their outstanding service toward promoting inclusive excellence, both within the Brockport community and abroad.
SUNY Brockport is committed to engaging students, faculty, and staff in meaningful, purposeful, and rewarding ways, honoring the many differing experiences and perspectives reflected among our diverse community. In daily pursuit of being a Great Place to Learn and Work, the core values of Equity, Diversity, & Inclusion (EDI) are essential to establishing and maintaining an institutional climate and culture conducive to learning and development of all people. Understanding both the duty and responsibility to develop and promote institutional processes that highlight the exceptional actions and behaviors of stakeholders – modeling most desired actions/practices that align and support institutional priorities and values, intentional and meaningful recognition process are imperative in driving systemic change.
The EDI Award Selection Committee chair will be appointed by the CDO. The appointed chair will provide membership recommendations to the CDO based on the parameters established within SUNY Brockport’s Shared Governance Document. In addition to SUNY and College parameters, the EDI Award Selection Committee commits to maintaining an inclusive membership of internal and external stakeholders, reflective of diverse social and cultural identity groups. Minimally, committee membership shall not be composed in its entirety of representation of a single race or gender. The EDI Award Selection Committee will include stakeholder representation from the following areas (minimum):
- One representative from each College Division
- One representative from the Rochester Education Opportunity Center (REOC)
- One representative from Brockport Auxiliary Service Corporation (BASC)
- One external representative from the Brockport Foundation or College Council
- Brockport Student Government (BSG) President or designee
- Brockport Alumni Association President or designee
