Bio

Born in Cincinnati, Dr. Althouse grew up on a farm in northeast Ohio, where he developed a Midwestern penchant for hard work and a dangerous ineptitude for handling heavy agricultural equipment. Thus, he entered academia. Dr. Althouse's research interests involve the study of Kenneth Burke's critical agenda and explore the intersection of religion, communication, and civic life. At SUNY Brockport, he has published more than a dozen book chapters and scholarly articles. His teaching repertoire includes classes like Rhetorical Criticism, Rhetorical Theory, and American Oratory.
