Curriculum
The criminal justice minor requires 18 credits of course work in the field. Inside the classroom you can expect to learn analytical, critical and creative thinking skills. We focus on theory and practice of criminal justice systems. You'll develop a deep understanding of the causes, consequences and control of crime and criminal behavior.

Explore a Minor in History
A common complement to the criminal justice major is an 18-credit minor in history. This will help you further hone your critical thinking, communication and research skills. Available courses include Censorship and Free Speech in US History, War and Terrorism in the World, and Landmark US Supreme Court Decisions.

The minor is designed to introduce students to the field of criminal justice. A criminal justice background can lead to a career in law enforcement, judiciary and law, corrections, social services, business or education. Examples of employers include local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies and court systems, correctional agencies, security companies, crime labs, and non-profit organizations.
