Our program is certified by both the New York State Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services (OASAS) and the Association for Addiction Professionals (NAADAC).

Career Outlook
This program prepares students for entry-level positions in the substance abuse counseling field, including outpatient, residential, and inpatient settings. Employment of substance abuse and behavioral disorder counselors is projected to grow 31 percent (average job growth is 11%) from 2012 to 2022 (US Department of Labor).
In New York, employment of substance abuse and behavioral disorder counselors is projected to grow 16 percent from 2012 to 2022, with 320 projected job openings per year (New York State Department of Labor).
Substance Abuse Counselor was listed among the 36 Top Health Care Jobs of 2015 by US News & World Report.
