What You’ll Learn

In our Social Studies Adolescence Education program, you will delve into history from around the world, from Asia to Africa to Europe and Latin America. Along with that, you will take political science, geography, and economics courses. The curriculum will help you develop a broad knowledge base and critical thinking, research, communication, and problem-solving skills vital for classroom teachers.

In the certification program you’ll learn how adolescents learn, how to teach literacy and social studies, and how to manage a classroom. You’ll get practical field experience before student teaching. By graduation you’ll be well prepared to teach social studies in today’s diverse classrooms.
