Required Academic Documents
Once you have started your application in either the Common Application or the SUNY Application, you need to submit the required documents in order for your application to be processed. Work with your school counselor to ensure all appropriate materials are submitted to our office.
Submit your official transcript
After submitting an online application, please prepare an official or true certified copy from your university (transcripts, examination scores, mark sheets, etc.) in both English and the original language.
Submit TOEFL/IELTS scores
Submit a TOEFL or IELTS score.
Submit a personal essay & one letter of recommendation
Prepare and submit one recommendation letter from a school teacher or counselor and
prepare a 250 - 500 word autobigraphical/personal essay in English that addresses
one of the following questions:
- Reasons for selecting the field of study
- Special interest and abilities
- Plans for further study and/or employment after completing your degree
- Your family background
Track Your Progress
You can track your application status in our online system. Check for any missing documents or additional required items. The Banner/Campus Information System login page lists instructions on how to log in. If you have questions about materials that we are requesting, please refer to our Status Code Descriptions or contact us for clarification.
