Dena earned her Master of Social Work from SUNY Buffalo (2014) and was licensed to practice in New York State in May 2015. She is currently pursuing her Juris Doctor at Albany Law School. Before beginning law school, Dena worked as a social worker providing clinical counseling services and supervised visitation to families with children in foster care. My experience as a WMS student gave me a framework for viewing the world that has affected every aspect of my life. WMS classes, such as Gender, Race, and Class, exposed me to, and encouraged me to analyze, diverse experiences and ways of thinking, providing me with a more informed and unique basis for my work, studies, and life. My experiences in the program have been the foundation of my passion for advocacy.Dena DeFazio
