Golden Eagle Orientation is required for all incoming students.

Orientation is an exciting and important first step in your college journey! We can’t wait to meet you and help you navigate this new experience.

Golden Eagle Orientation is designed to help you:

  • Make connections with other new students and peers
  • Understand your fall course schedule and academic requirements
  • Find out how you can become involved on campus and make your mark
  • Learn about resources that will support you both on and off campus
  • Understand important policies and procedures

Schedule & Registration

All new students must attend an overnight orientation session. Register by clicking on the session that works best for you.

Session 2 - FULL July 18 - 19
Session 3 - FULL July 21 - 22
Session 4 July 25 - 26
Session 5 July 28 - 29

Students enrolled in the Educational Opportunity Program have a specific summer program. More information on the EOP Summer Program found here

Overnight Accommodations 

Students will be staying in one of our on-campus residence halls. Guests who need housing accommodations can request them by emailing

Travel Accommodations 

Families in the downstate area (NYC region, Long Island, Westchester region) can sign up for our Golden Eagle Orientation Shuttle. Departing from the New York Public Library in Manhattan, the bus will take you and one guest (if needed) up to Brockport to attend Golden Eagle Orientation. The trip is scheduled for the fifth orientation session and will depart on July 27th.

This trip is first come first served as there are limited seats.

Guest Policy

Students attending a session are permitted to bring only one (1) guest due to space limitations. Guests will attend separate, but concurrent information sessions designed to help them understand processes, procedures, and how to support their new Golden Eagle during their transition to SUNY Brockport. If a second guest is necessary, please contact us for accommodations.

Get Ready! 

The next several months are going to be full of excitement! We want to make sure you have all the information you need to make this transition as smooth as possible. Be sure to Visit Brockport Bound for a First-Year Student Checklist.

The First Year Orientation Programs fee covers all expenses associated with your first-year experience, including summer orientation, Welcome Week activities, first-year seminar related costs, and orientation events throughout the first semester. The $200 fee is placed on the student bill and cannot be waived.
