Letter to Village Residents from Brockport Mayor Margay Blackman
Off-Campus Student Protocols
Abide by the Social Distancing and Face Covering Policy
It will be strictly enforced and result in referrals to Student Conduct for disciplinary action. We know you will be excited to reunite with your friends, and meet new friends, but do not host or attend large gatherings. Sanctions for violating SUNY Brockport policies and directives of college officials may include removal from campus housing and/or conduct suspension, as well as parent notification.
Failure to abide by the Code of Student Conduct, including new safety policies and state requirements, may jeopardize your ability to be a student at Brockport.
Report Your Concerns
If and when you have concerns about social distancing and/or face covering that are unresolved, please submit those concerns via the online reporting form. Our goals is to use those concerns to improve your overall experience this semester.
Student Training Video
Navigating campus will be different, so we have prepared a training video that will help you have a better sense of what campus will be like. It is our expectation that you will watch this video before returning to campus.
Village of Brockport Information
Masks are required in all locations including the open air Brockport Farmers Market. No gathering & mingling in groups on public walkways or in bars or restaurants. Keep your circle of company small, even outdoors.
Brockport Police Protocol
The Brockport Police Department has no choice but to take a “Zero Tolerance” approach to large social gatherings. COVID-19 remains a very serious health threat that must be taken seriously. The health and safety of all who reside and visit our community is our number one priority.
Downtown Businesses & Shopping
Main Street businesses are open – please follow their rules for masking, number of customers at a time, hand sanitizing requests, etc. The Brockport Merchants Association links to many local businesses. Many provide take-out or delivery options.
The Brockport Farmers Market is open, Sunday 8am-1pm, Market Street, through the end of October. (Cash or ask vendors if accepting electronic payment; some now taking Venmo).
Emergencies & Government Information
The UR Medicine Strong West Hospital is open for emergency only.
