Saturday of Service Team Leader Sign-Up
August 24, 2019 12:00 pm–5:00 pm
Welcome students to their new community through service.
Saturday of Service (SOS) is a massive community service initiative at The College at Brockport for all incoming students. This one-day event takes place during Fall Welcome Week and is led by the Office of Community Development. Each year, approximately 1,000 incoming students spend two hours volunteering at one of more than 60 different organizations and agencies in the local community. Saturday of Service has become a significant tradition at the College and has been able to have an immense impact on its participants and the surrounding community.
SOS Team Leaders are faculty, staff, and returning students who lead a group of new students on their service project — ride with the students on the bus, oversee the project, be a liaison between Brockport and the site, participate in the project, create a comfortable environment for the students, help students reflect on the significance of their participation on the bus ride back to campus, and provide feedback regarding your team's experience.
