Careers in Computing Event
February 28, 2020 11:15 am–1:30 pm
Local employers and alumni will participate in a panel discussion about future job and internship opportunities.
Career Services and the Department of Computing Sciences are proud to announce the Careers in Computing event.
Friday, February 28, 2020, from 11:15 am–1:30 pm in the Seymour Union 220
All students interested in careers in computing, in particular, Computer Information Systems and Computer Science majors and minors, are strongly encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to network with local employers and alumni. There will be a panel discussion/presentation on internship and job opportunities in the IT field and how students may prepare themselves to avail of these opportunities.
The industry panelist includes representatives from
• Capstone IT
• Verizon Media.
Following the panel discussion portion of the event, there will be an opportunity to speak informally with these employers and alumni at a networking reception and lunch in the Seymour Union Gallery. This is also an opportunity to hand over your resume to these potential employers, so students are strongly encouraged to come prepared with a resume and to dress appropriately for such an occasion. (In the computing industry, "business casual" is probably a good fit. For specific suggestions, view the link below.)
