Teach a summer session course in Rome, Italy!
John Cabot University (JCU) holds two five-week summer sessions every summer and invites visiting faculty from JCU partners to join in summer teaching.
Every summer, JCU has around 40 visiting faculty along with JCU faculty creating a vibrant, collegial, and enjoyable community of educators who continue to work from any of its faculty offices, library, or Tiber Café.
Summer course dates are:
Summer I 2019: May 27 – June 28
Summer II 2019: July 8 – August 9
U.S. citizens may teach for five weeks at JCU without the need for a visa (stays must be less than 90 days); payment is in U.S. dollars with direct deposit to your U.S. bank account and reported to the IRS for the W-2.
Classes are 2 hours a day, 4 days a week for 5 weeks. The class size is normally 5 to 25 students to include both JCU's own degree-seeking students and visiting students.
The course stipend is $4,200 gross that normally is more than enough to cover transportation to Rome and housing for five weeks. Faculty do find their own housing, which is very easy in Rome. Faculty who teach in Summer II may have the option to stay in JCU’s Gianicolo Residence (minors are not allowed).
Should you wish to be considered for summer teaching, please send a CV and cover letter to Dean Mary Merva (email@example.com).
