Brockport Student Teaching Candidates Impact K-12 Student Learning and Strengthen Partnership between the College and Brockport Central School District (BCSD)

Brockport student teaching candidates make positive impact on K-12 student learning and help strengthen the partnership between the College and Brockport Central School District (BCSD).

"Go West"

Ms. Olivia Weston, a student teaching candidate in the Childhood Inclusive Education program, collaborated with Mr. David Resseguie, her School-based Teacher Educator (SBTE), Mr. Randall Yu and Ms. Jenna Murgillo, Co-Teachers, other professionals, and their 5th graders at Hill Elementary School to put together a play of “Go West.” The play helped students integrate multiple subjects of reading, writing, spoken language of English Language Arts, social studies, music, theatre, and performance through team work and collaboration. The play was open to the public.

The partnership between the College and Brockport Central School District provides great opportunities for the teacher candidates in the Adolescence and Childhood Inclusive Education Programs to grow as professionals, including but limited to field experience, student teaching, and professional development opportunities. Brockport teacher candidates, their college professors and teachers/professionals from BCSD work closely together to make positive impact on K-12 student learning.
