Dr. Jason Dauenhauer, professor of social work; Dr. Kristin Heffernan, professor of social work; and Dr. Nicole Cesnales, associate professor of social work, published an article in Educational Gerontology entitled, "Promoting inter-generational learning in higher education: Older adult perspectives on course auditing." The article highlights results of a survey completed by older adult auditors participating in the College's lifelong learning initiative to engage community members within the classroom. Results indicated that auditors were motivated to enroll in a college course due to the self-satisfaction of learning, subject of the course, and time of course offering. Implications for promoting this type of lifelong learning initiative were also discussed.
