Thursday, August 26

Time Activity
8 am – 5 pm Residence Hall Check-in (First-year Delta College, Honors College, and Living Learning Communities students)
Residence Halls
Move-in assistance will be provided until 5 pm. Check-in will continue through the evening, but no move-in assistance will be available after 5. Honors students should be moved-in by 2 pm.
2 – 4 pm Honors College First-year Student Activities with Peer Mentors

Required for Honors College first-year students. Honors peer mentors meet w/Honors first-year students; t-shirts distributed; form mentor groups; group picture(s); tour campus/Village of Brockport.
7 pm LLC Welcome Reception (First-year LLC students)

Hear more about what to expect in your first year participating in the LLC program! You'll have the opportunity to meet and talk with other LLC students, LLC Mentors, RAs, RDs, staff, and faculty members.
7:30 pm First LLC Community Meeting (First-year LLC Students)

Join the other members of your LLC, along with your RAs and LLC mentor, to learn about the unique opportunities you'll have as an LLC resident this year!

 

Friday, August 27

8 am – 3 pm Residence Hall Check-in (First-year, transfer, and EOP students)

Move-in assistance provided for these students until 3 pm. Check-in will continue through the evening, but no move-in assistance will be available after 3 pm due to Academic Convocation.
10 am – 12 pm LLC Programs (All LLCs)

This event is required for all first-year LLC students. Please refer to your Resident Assistant (RA) for the meeting location and program information for your LLC.
1 – 3:45 pm Honors College First-year Student Orientation
*Mandatory*
Seymour College Union Ballroom
Required for all Honors College first-year students. This orientation to the Honors College and its requirements and opportunities will include an initial meeting of your introductory Honors Seminar (no preparation required).
4 pm Academic Convocation
SERC
Join faculty, staff, and students as we welcome you and celebrate the beginning of a new academic year through presentations highlighting Brockport’s excellence and pride. Ceremony will begin promptly at 4:00 pm. For more info: www.brockport.edu/convocation
7 – 9 pm First-year Community Meetings (All residence hall students)

Join the Office of Residential Life/Learning Communities as they welcome you to your residence hall community. Your RD and RAs will review policies/procedures as well as effective strategies for your success at Brockport. See your building staff for details.
9 pm BSG Presents: Outdoor Movie
Alumni Walk
Join BSG for an outdoor movie on Alumni Walk (near Liberal Arts Building).

 

Saturday, August 28

9 am New Student Kick-Off
SERC
All new students gather to plan out the weekend and prepare to kick off the academic school year. The rest of the academic and social events of the weekend will be explained and most students will break out into Academic Planning Seminar Groups. 
9:30 – 10:30 am Peer Mentor Meetings: Academic Planning Seminar (APS)
Various Academic Buildings
First Year students will meet with their Academic Planning Seminar (APS) Peer Mentor to discuss their transition to Brockport, the APS class itself and the Summer Storytelling assignment. 
1 – 4 pm Meet U at the Mall
Campus Mall
Join us for games, inflatables, novelty food, and more — as we celebrate the start of the academic year! 
6 – 9 pm Shopping Shuttles to Walmart and Wegmans
Seymour College Union, Admissions parking lot (Lot L)
Shuttles will depart every 15 minutes.
9 pm BSG Presents: Grocery Bingo
SERC
Time to stock up on college essentials while playing bingo!  This is one of our most popular BSG events each year. Win big and walk away with great stuff! 
9 pm Residence Halls Program

Check with your RA/RD for the fun activities in store for your hall!
10 pm

Late Night Lawn Party

Relax with some late-night lawn games, food, and fun!

10 – 11 am Second Year Students: Welcome Back

Welcome back! We know this year will be different for our second-year students than last year was, so we’re taking the opportunity to reconnect and welcome our sophomores back to Brockport. We will highlight ways to connect, engage and how expectations change in the second-year and beyond. 
10:30 am – 3:30 pm Student Organization Officer Training

All student organizations (BSG clubs, club sports, fraternities & sororities) are required to have officers participate in the annual officer training. 
1 – 4 pm Campus Tours: Find Your Classes
Union Main Lounge
Join our upperclass students for a tour of campus, specially customized to your class schedule. 
4 – 6 pm Meet & Greet Ice Cream Social

Come grab some ice cream and meet fellow students and student organization leaders.

Meet and mingle with returning friends, the Honors directors, and faculty and staff. Take the opportunity to ask any questions you might have about Honors after COVID!

Meet members of our fraternities and sororities and learn about how to get involved! Snacks, games and more!

12:30 – 2 pm Part-time Job Fair
Campus Mall
Students will learn about part-time job opportunities & internship positions both on & off campus. If you're interested in a part-time job, head down to the job fair to meet with hiring representatives, and enjoy free food & games.

Over 100 student organizations will be on hand for you to meet with and learn how to join. Plus, performances from our entertainment groups. This is the BEST way to learn about how to get involved on campus!
