The Student Patrol program allows students to work in the Law Enforcement field and gain valuable life experience while assisting University Police in maintaining a safe and secure campus.
Students can call the Escort Service/SafeRide at 585-395-SAFE (2733) and a member of the Student Patrol (available from 8 pm-2 am daily during the academic year) will respond quickly to escort them to their car or residence hall. Outside of the hours of 8 pm-2 am, a student may request Escort Service by calling University Police Dispatch at 585-395-2226, and an officer will respond to their request.
Your personal property (e.g., computers, TVs, stereos) can be engraved and registered. This will deter theft and help identify stolen property. Call (585) 395-2226 for more information.
University Police provides students and staff with lectures and demonstrations on various topics, including alcohol awareness, date rape, controlled substances, personal safety, DWI and interpersonal relationships. Requests for information regarding any of the topics offered or discuss ideas for new topics may be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org.
To help reduce campus crime, each residence hall/learning community has a University Police Officer assigned as a community policing officer. The purpose of this program is for the assigned University Police Officer to meet regularly with the students in their assigned residence hall to provide information, resolve situations, and lend assistance face to face. In addition, the University Police Bike Patrol provides another opportunity for officers to interact on a one-to-one basis with the campus community.
